Living with trauma makes it hard to feel like we’re really, actually living…

and our world gets smaller and smaller as anxiety, overwhelm, and shutdown limit what we’re able to do.

What we really want is to feel ALIVE again…

When we’re desperate to feel better, of course we’d wish there could be a quick fix, even if we know shortcuts don’t cut it when it comes to healing trauma.

Hi there! I’m Kristen

I studied and explored the body and nervous system for years before I began to understand my nervous system in a way that could help me heal from complex trauma. Learning polyvagal theory shifted my entire perspective on why I struggled so much, and showed me real possibilities for getting unstuck. I’d love to help the same happen for you. 

I know how empowering the science of safety and survival can be, but I also know that real transformation requires understanding the ways we embody that science everyday.   • It’s not a problem, not everyone can!

    I’ve designed the course to feel complete and coherent even if you attend asynchronously (which many participants do!). Recordings will be available within 24 hours of the live class, and you can use our online class community on Circle to stay engaged and on-track. I’ll be checking in regularly with the group to see how it’s going, and available for any questions that come up along the way. If you still have concerns about not being able to attend all the classes live, reach out and let’s chat :)

  • I believe that making a course trauma-informed requires at least three important elements, and I’ve designed ATTUNE with all of them in mind:

    Context: Our nervous system likes to know why we’re doing what we’re doing, so we’ll take the time to move through information and experiential practices in a way that makes sense and feels relevant and embodied (not just conceptual).

    Connection: We’ll be exploring our nervous systems together over a period of 9 weeks, which gives you a LOT more opportunities to connect with the content, yourself, and the group than in a one-and-done class. Our online class community provides an easy way to connect outside of the live calls, and you’ll also be welcome to contact me directly along the way if you need any feedback or guidance about what’s coming up for you.

    Choice: Our nervous system needs to have choice in order to feel safe, so you get to choose exactly how it feels best and safe for you to engage with the course—live calls, recordings, PDFs, and our online course community are all available, and I trust you to decide what’s right for you!

  • In ATTUNE, you’ll use the concepts of polyvagal theory to build an embodied relationship with your nervous system and discover your own autonomic path for long-term healing. You’ll learn how to connect with your body, through the lens of the nervous system—getting to know how you experience survival and safety mentally, emotionally, physically, and relationally everyday. It’s all about creating a foundation for healing from trauma that can guide and support you in the moment AND in the long term.

    Embodied Resource focuses on learning to use your body’s natural abilities for sensation, movement, breath, and more to regulate and build capacity in your nervous system for embodied safety. You’ll learn lots of body-based practices to feel safe in your body and give your healing the somatic support it needs, and understand how to use them in a mindful, nuanced, deeply effective way. Embodied Resource is shorter than ATTUNE (6 weeks instead of 9), and also complements it well. You’re welcome to take both, but neither is a prerequisite for the other!

  • I typically run ATTUNE only once a year, so the next round will most likely be in early 2025. You can get on my mailing list to make sure you hear about it when it happens, and to stay in the loop about other opportunities to learn with me in the meantime!

  • No, ATTUNE is a course that’s intended solely for personal education and use, not to train, support, or certify you to do nervous system work with clients. It will assist you in better understanding and regulating your own nervous system, which will undoubtedly help you show up more resourcefully for the people and work that’s important to you.

  • You may choose to join ATTUNE with one payment in full, or with fee-free monthly payments over 3 or 6 months; the first/initial payment is made when you register for the course, and the subsequent payments will be charged to your credit card on that same date the following months (e.g. if you register on January 16th, your card will be charged for the remaining payments on Feb. 16th, Mar. 16th, etc.).
